    Shipshewana On the Road was founded in November of 1992 by Darrell and Julie Lepper when they decided to bring some dealers from the Shipshewana, IN outdoor market to the Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek, MI where they live. The outdoor market had long been a favorite place for people to shop. But because of the long drive, the short season (May through October) and the fact that it was only open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, many people were unable to attend. And so...that November in 1992 started what is today 15 to 20 Shipshewana On the Road shows a year held in Michigan, Indiana,and Ohio.
     Come and see over 200 crafters and vendors presenting their products in one of the most exciting shows around. You don't need to go to Indiana to find that perfect mothers day gift or decoration for your home.

Located in the Historic Kerrytown District in Downtown Ann Arbor,
Michigan,  is an open-air market where you can find hand-made items of exceptional quality.

     The market's juried artisans offer works in a variety of media including glass, textiles and fiber arts, wood, ceramics, jewelry, painting, drawing, photography, basketry, recycled and mixed media and metalwork.  All work is handmade by the artist who is on site, which adds to shoppers' enjoyment and knowledge about the unique items they purchase.
     The "official" hours are from 11am to 4pm, from the first Sunday in April to the Sunday before Christmas.However, since this is an open air market, there are no locked doors, so many early risers, runners, and weekenders will find some vendors ready for business by 10am.  Later shoppers meet friends for lunch at the famed Zingerman's Deli or quaint Braun Court eateries, or before a late-afternoon concert at nearby Kerrytown Concert House or Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan's campus.
