OF LIGHT TRUCKS
Look At The Facts Before Choosing A Truck Bedliner
(NAPSA)-So you've purchased a new or used light truck. If you're
like most truck owners, the next important enhancement to your driving arsenal will be the
installation of a bedliner. Because trucks work hard, the more protection you provide, the
greater the payback you're likely to receive in terms of durability and resale value.
How can you be certain the truck bedliner you choose will provide the
long-term protection, performance, durability, appearance and value you need? It's
simple-by sticking to the facts. And here they are:

Driving Concept Cars Home
(NAPSA)-The idea of a concept car is no longer an unusual one for
many auto-show visitors. These mainstays of the show circuit have become as common as
electricity and video screens.
However, in 1938, the idea of creating an automobile to explore new worlds of design and
technology seemed as fanciful as space flight for many-but not to designer Harley Earl.
Earl was GM's vice president of design and father of the Buick Y-Job, considered the
world's first concept car. Read

Can Classified Ads Be Bad?
(NAPSA)-Dear Auto Andy-
Recently when shopping for a used car, we answered a classified
ad for a car that seemed to meet all our criteria. My husband met the seller at a local
school parking lot to see the car. He said he was selling it for a friend who got a job in
another state. It was a recent model year that looked to be in good condition with low
mileage-so we bought it, for $9,000.
Almost immediately we began having problems with it. We ran a
vehicle history report only to learn that the car was previously salvaged. We've tried to
call the seller, but his line is "no longer in service," and we have no other
way to reach him. We thought we were getting a great deal, but it looks like we got taken
instead! Is there anything we can do?

Tire Maintenance Critical
to Safe Driving
(ARA) - Long weekends, road trips to favorite fishing spots or summer
cottages suggest long traveling distances, overloaded vehicles and high tire temperatures.
Add low tire pressure, found in 30 percent of all cars and light trucks, and a potentially
dangerous situation develops.

A Little Knowledge Takes Drivers A Long Way
(NAPSA)-According to a recent survey, in an economic recession an estimated 84 percent of
American drivers are more likely to care for their current vehicle.
Maintenance requires drivers take an active role in understanding their cars. In fact,
today's drivers want to maintain their cars, but the volume of resources available can be
overwhelming. To get the most out of your automobile, the experts at Autolite recommend

Tips To Put Classic Car
Dreams Within Your Reach
(NAPSA)-Once considered a perk for the rich and famous, classic cars are now becoming
more accessible to drivers from all walks of life.Experts say several factors are fueling
the trend. There are plenty of older, well-maintained vehicles available today-plus lots
of baby boomers with disposable income. Also, a growing number of specialty shops keep the
classics running strong and looking good."Anyone can play in this hobby, regardless
of the size of their pocketbook," says Dennis Gage, host of the national television
show "My Classic Car."These rules of the road can help you find your dream
collectible car:
Define "Classic" in Your Terms. A
collector car doesn't have to be expensive or rare. Find something you really like and
have fun with it, whether it's a Jaguar, a Camaro or a Nova.
Make it a Passionate Pursuit. Realize that owning a
collector car is primarily an emotional investment. "Most people who think they'll
make money with a collectible car are fooling themselves," says Classic Car Club of
America President Chuck Conrad.
Consider Your Model Options. Corvettes, GTOs and
Mustangs may seem obvious choices, but don't overlook the Dodge Dart or Plymouth Valiant.
Avoid the "fixer-upper," since restoration can be expensive.
Meet Like-Minded People. Start your classic car search by
joining a car club, or attending cruise nights, rally events and auto shows. Read
specialty publications such as Hemmings Motor News.
Look for a Loan Online. Go online to comparison
shop for collector car loans before you buy. Whether it's a private-party transaction or a
dealership purchase, you can find competitive rates and a no-hassle process at sites such
as www.capitaloneauto finance.com. Shoppers can have a no-obligation Blank Check(r) in
hand the next day.
Be Realistic with Your Usage. Remember, today's
cars are built better than those from yesteryear. Avoid using a classic car as your
primary transportation. By doing your homework, you may find that your classic dream car
is well within your reach.Dennis Gage, the host of TV's "My Classic Car," shows

LIKE SAM SADDRIVER.
(NAPSA)-If you own a vehicle that you feel has a safety-related
defect, you should report the problem to the Hotline at the National Highway Traffic

The DOT Auto Safety Hotline specializes in gathering information about safety problems in
motor vehicles and also vehicle equipment, such as child safety seats and tires. This is

Best-Kept Secret In Driving Safety? The
Shock Absorber
(NAPSA)-If you're ever in a driving situation where sudden braking or a sharp evasive
maneuver save you from a collision, perhaps you should thank your shock absorbers and/or
struts for helping to ensure your safety.
That's right, shocks and struts play critical roles in your vehicle's ability to deliver
precise steering response, maximum stopping power and road-holding stability in a broad
range of driving situations. To the surprise of many consumers, improving passenger
comfort-through the dampening of road-induced noise and vibration-is not the only role of
today's shocks and struts.
