I have been
doing art shows for over 30 years and this past weekend I
was at three shows selling the current version of the
Michigan Art & Craft Show Directory. As most of you
know, George Walker used to visit every show and sell his
magazine. We sold our book online only and never sold our
book at the shows because we respected George and knew he
needed the income to provide for his family. We have done
our Show Directory for the past 5 years and sold only
online on our website. Now that George has stopped doing
his book, we will be going to several of the shows during
the weekends. It was great to see the crafters, many who
already are owners of our book. We will continue to stop
by the shows, but we advise you to order online to make
sure you don't miss us.
Here is hoping you have a
great new year.

The
Sunday Artisan Market
Sunday,
April 1st, 2013 through Christmas
Located
in
the Historic Kerrytown District in Downtown Ann
Arbor,
Michigan, is an open-air market where you can
find hand-made items of exceptional quality.
The market's juried artisans
offer works in a variety of media including glass,
textiles and fiber arts, wood, ceramics, jewelry,
painting, drawing, photography, basketry, recycled and
mixed media and metalwork. All work is handmade
by the artist who is on site, which adds to shoppers'
enjoyment and knowledge about the unique items they
purchase.
The "official" hours are from
11am to 4pm, from the first Sunday in April to the
Sunday before Christmas. However, since this is an open
air market, there are no locked doors, so many early
risers, runners, and weekenders will find some vendors
ready for business by 10am. Later shoppers meet
friends for lunch at the famed Zingerman's Deli or
quaint Braun Court eateries, or before a
late-afternoon concert at nearby Kerrytown Concert
House or Hill Auditorium on the University of
Michigan's campus.
